  1. APRIL 2014

April 2014 – This month there is not a lot of live music going on as I will be receiving further medical treatment and concentrating on various rehearsals for the studio work scheduled during this year. March was a great month with St.Patrick’s Day celebrations. That said, Celtic Krystal did not have Adrian Boddy ‘on board’ due to illness, but I am assured he is now back to full fiddling health and strength! Thanks to Kevin Naughton and Duncan Ivory for ‘depping’. It’s worth mentioning that over the Easter weekend there is a significant amount of Live Music taking place …

  2. MARCH 2014

March 2014 – This month there is a lot going on and March is one month that I always enjoy musically with St.Patrick’s Day celebrations bang in the middle. I have three ‘gigs’ with Celtic Krystal over that weekend but before then I need to get my Martin D35 guitar back home! As I mentioned, my first task is collecting a ‘fully recovered’ Martin. Thanks to Chris Walls, organiser of Royston Folk Club, who has done a great job. I would recommend Chris to anyone who needs a guitar doctor! He knows his stuff and is a total professional on …

February 2014 – This is the month of love, so make sweet music The month of January finished on a musical high with local Jazz Musician Dave Keech, Ray Gelato, the band, Rachel Farrow and Russell on keyboards at The George in Hitchin. An absolutely superb night of jazz and swing and – SOLD OUT. Looks as if this could be the start of regular jazz events at The George later in the year. Visit the pub for more information. Pity about the cancellation of one of my Burns’ Suppers this year, but thoroughly enjoyed my night with Mark Smith …

  5. DECEMBER 2013

    Christmas Tree and Presents

December 2013 – It’s the month to be Jolly and there is certainly lots of good things going on within my music world. Sadly though, this month has started with the tragic accident in Glasgow, at The Clutha Vaults, and the train crash in the Bronx USA. Christmas will be a very sad time for those touched by these events. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all those families, who have suffered loss and injury. This not withstanding the ongoing horrors of the typhoon in the Phillipines. This month I have live gigs with Celtic Krystal at the Victoria Hitchin, …

  6. November 2013

November 2013 – News letters should be all about the present and the future, but I must say something about the past month – briefly! The opera and West End Night production at The Sun Hotel, Hitchin on Wednesday 9th October for the local rotary club was an absolutely lovely evening, unfortunately performed to a rather small audience. Let’s hope the next event draws a few more rotarians out for the evening. On the other hand, Bridlington Spa Royal Hall business awards event, with opera singer Andrew Bain and singer / guitarist Alex Bay, was an enormous success and to …

September 2013 – This month is all about preparing for gigs in autumn, and yes, the winter ahead. Celtic Krystal have been making their first video and we await delivery from the producers. Studio work continues on the new CD and hopefully that should be completed fairly soon. I will be making a solo appearance on Sunday 15th September, 5.45pm, at The Orange Tree in Baldock as part of the Balstock Festival. Finally, on the folk front, Celtic Krystal launched their new web site and the feedback so far is that it is a great improvement on the old site. …

August 2013 – This month is all about preparing for the autumn, and yes, the winter ahead. Celtic Krystal have been making their first video, out in the fields of Hertfordshire for the Celtic song Lord of the Dance. This, for those who have not heard our version is coupled with the Irish reel Sally Gardens. All good stuff. Hopefully, it will be available from September 2013 Celtic Krystal have private gigs in August and worth noting that the band can be booked for private parties and weddings where you want a Celtic Vibe. The recording of the album is …

July 2013 – Had a very good night at the end of June with Celtic Krystal at the Royston Folk Club.
