March 2013 – there is something always vibrant about the month of March. It’s probably a lot to do with the hope of spring and warmer weather, light nights with the change of clocks, and without a doubt the March madness of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Rehearsals with Celtic Krystal are all scheduled for our green weekend around the 17th March 2013. The band kicks off at La Concha in Letchworth on Friday 15th March 2013 at 8.30pm. The restaurant is serving up Irish Tapas, and during the course of the evening dancers from Team Brooks, based in North London, will be entertaining the diners. Celtic Krystal will be providing the Celtic craque and plenty jigs and reels.
On Saturday 16th March 2013 Celtic Krystal will be off to the Musgrave Arms, near Shillington, to turn the the air a paler shade of green for an Irish night at this pub, one of the bands favourite haunts. Most performances at the Musgrave end up with a form of dancing from the local young farmers. ‘Strictly Come Madness!’ It starts at 8.30pm and will finish sometime!
Sunday 17th March 2013 continues with an afternoon session at The Boot in Baldock and starts at 2.00pm through until 5.00pm. It would be good to see as many of you as possible there to support Tommy the Irish landlord.
To end the weekend we do our final St. Patrick’s Day performance at The Victoria in Hitchin from 7.30pm. It is always a cracking end to the weekend so make sure you prepare to take Monday off!!!
The end of the month takes me to Durham for some private opera work, before a tour in early April to Cumbria and Glasgow.
So – If you are considering hosting an event and require some Celtic songs, jigs and reels, then why not get in touch via my contact page. Myself and Celtic Krystal are available for weddings, parties, folk nights and festivals of all sorts, as is covers duo Solid Silver.
Have a good March, but beware the ides of… and enjoy St. Patrick’s day if you are celebrating. Stay safe, keep music live and have fun all round!
